Davi MoreiraVisiting Assistant Professor | QTM

Biography

Prior to joining the Department of Quantitative Theory and Methods at Emory University, Dr. Moreira was a Visiting Assistant Professor at the School of Global Policy and Strategy at the University of California San Diego (UCSD). He was also an Assistant Professor in the Political Science Department at the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE), Brazil, and the Principal Investigator of the Computational and Experimental Political Science Lab (@cpcex_lab). In 2017 he was awarded the Best Brazilian Ph.D. Thesis Prize in Political Science and International Relations. Dr. Moreira also collaborated with the World Bank as Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist in human development projects in African and Latin American countries.

Research

Davi Moreira's primary research agenda focuses on political communication and political representation in the Global South countries. He is especially interested in text as data, natural language processing, causal inference, and artificial intelligence.
